I PUT IT IN THE DISHWASHER. THAT COUNTS AS CLEANING - Canvas Print

“I PUT IT IN THE DISHWASHER. THAT COUNTS AS CLEANING” is a jubilant confession in chunky black, red, and blue lettering. Beneath the declaration, an open dishwasher reveals orderly stacks of pale plates, drinking glasses, a red mug, and a basket of cutlery. Mustard yellow radiates behind it in mint-colored rays, making this ordinary kitchen machine look like it has just won a tiny domestic election. The distressed screenprint texture adds the warm, slightly scuffed charm of a poster that has survived many heroic meals.

This canvas print gives the humble dishwasher its rightful role as the patron saint of delayed chores. There is a persuasive little theory at work here: if an object has crossed the threshold into the machine, then it has entered the kingdom of intention, and intention is almost labor. The canvas print keeps that gloriously flimsy logic bright, bold, and impossible to argue with while the dishes wait calmly inside their gleaming metal cave.
